Hydroflux Decentralised Treatment Plant Upgrade to Commence at one of Australia’s Largest Alumina Refineries
April 21, 2026
Hydroflux will undertake a decentralised treatment plant upgrade at a refinery that supplies in-demand alumina to nearby and international smelters.

Hydroflux was awarded an upgrade of one of the sewage treatment facilities operating in one of the customer’s operations with the aim of providing increased reliability, automation and performance.
“Many decentralised sewage treatment plants can benefit from our upgrade options such as new primary treatment, enhanced aeration, tertiary treatment and sludge processing. Upgrading with these options increases plant reliability and performance. We have upgraded many decentralised sewage treatment plants across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and PNG with our solutions to ensure the asset operates to best practice” says John Koumoukelis, CEO of Hydroflux.

Hydroflux design and build a range of decentralised potable water, sewage and sludge treatment plants for mining sites, resorts, marina’s and smaller communities. We also provide upgrades to existing decentralised systems to increase capacity and performance, automation and to extend the life of existing assets.
