Toby Martin HI NZ Project Manager: ‘Bringing the Details to Life’

July 7, 2022

Our local Hydroflux Project Manager Toby Martin loves getting outdoors. In the photo below, he is at Tawhai Falls also known as Gollum’s Pool. For fans of Lord of the Rings, this waterfall is the set of the forbidden pool in which Frodo Baggins and Faramir capture Gollum.

Toby is a dynamic Project Manager with an enthusiasm for projects executed locally in New Zealand. Although Hydroflux has completed projects across Australia and the Pacific from our main offices in Sydney, Toby has access to local resources enabling local fabrication and project execution within New Zealand.

Hydroflux designs, manufactures, and installs equipment in all categories of the managed water cycle. It is the early phase of the project where the key deliverables and criteria for success are planned out, and there are many advantages to having these managed locally.

“My favourite part of the job is bringing detail to the initial preliminary design and planning a pathway to a successful project delivery. Then, it is bringing the project to life by overseeing the construction and installation.”

With high technical competence and solid team building skills, Toby delivers technically challenging, time sensitive and budget critical projects while maintaining and often exceeding company KPI standards.

“The specific design and features of the completed wastewater treatment plant matter – not just because the plant is expected to perform.  An incorrectly designed system can absorb considerably more power and consumables than it needs to, and a poor layout can take up unnecessary space and be more difficult to operate and maintain.”

The process side of the equation is where knowledge, experience, skill and – equally as important – the ability to apply the technology effectively and ergonomically within the application is critical. Knowing local requirements and client expectations and marrying them into the delivery is also critical to a successful project.

“Innovating solutions in various challenging conditions whilst being supported by a highly skilled team of project engineers and contractors to fulfil all the key deliverables of the project, is what it is all about.”

The Hydroflux Group recently achieved Climate Active Certification as a Carbon Neutral Organisation. For our clients this means you are engaging with a carbon neutral organisation without increasing your carbon footprint and you are supporting positive and verified action on climate change.
